Kate Bacon
Katherine writes the MARKETING MOVERS column for 602 Communication's Marketing IdeaNet. She reports on the people in the business, keeping in touch with TV marketing people around the world via phone and Internet. Her column brings a personal touch to job changes, new companies, clients, promotions, awards, marriages and, well, you get the idea.
Katherine founded Well Dunne! in 2004. Her first client was Cutters Productions and their 5 PBS series for which she handles press, PR, special appearances, trade shows, and some producing duties for PBS pledge specials.
Before Well Dunne!, Katherine headed up Creative Services Departments in Charlotte, NC, St. Louis, MO, and Jacksonville, FL. While living in Los Angeles, she did freelance writing for the legendary Chuck Blore. Before the TV bug bit her, she was Media Director for BBDO-PR and handled such accounts as Pepsi Cola, Michael Jackson (before all this ugliness), Frito Lay and TGI Fridays.
Besides repositioning stations to ensure profitability and ratings, her writing and producing work has been honored with PROMAX Gold and Silver awards, Emmy's, Addy's, and a Silver Spur for a Pepsi PR Campaign.
In her spare time, she loves writing magazine articles about subjects that catch her interest. Her work has appeared in ST. LOUIS MAGAZINE, CHARLOTTE Magazine, PROMAX IMAGE, SOUTHERN LIVING, and EMMY. She is a member of Women in Film-LA.
A native of St. Louis, Katherine attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO where she studied Radio-TV-Film with a minor in Comparative Religions, and she holds a degree in Radio-TV-Film from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. She is proud of her family, which includes her son, her 86-year-old mother, her dog Shorty (who she considers the cutest dog in the whole world) and her cat William.
